Welcome to my Control-M web pages.

The true purpose of this website and information was strictly personal. I wanted a place to reference information from anywhere. If you found any of the information useful, great! If you have any information you would like to see, post a suggestion in the forums (it might be something I haven't thought of that I could use) If you think this website is a waste of time... it wasn't for you anyway, but thanks for stopping by.

I've been with Control-M since 5.0.08 on primarily the open systems side of the house. We installed our Control-M Server and Enterprise Manager (ECS back then) on AIX, with agents on both AIX and Windows environments. Over the years I've upgraded Control-M that now resides on a flavor of Linux. I've seen some issues with Control-M, but of all the products I've dealt with from BMC, Control-M is by far the most stable and most reliable.

Eventually Control-M was included on the Mainframe (in my environment) and cross platform communication has not only been essential, but also very reliable. However the current level of Mainframe is not support by the current version of Control-M. The company will not upgrade the Mainframe, which will require a little fancy foot work to accomplish the cross communication. The visual aspect in the GUI will be gone, but the conditions will still be passed.Solution in a nut shell, CMEM's and filewatcher's.

In addition to these pages, I prefer a different style of message boards then that of the Control-X user group. Don't get me wrong though, I think the guys and gals of the Control-X user group are excellent in providing information to questions or concerns. I hope some of them will find the forums here useful and provide assistance here as well. And I hope you'll join us in making the world a better place with your support in the forums.

I should mention... back in the day, the Control-X user group was having concerns about administrating their forums, as the original creator had gone missing. It was suggested that we try and track him down to allow access through additional admins or move the forums altogether. I registered this url in case the issue to move was necessary. The move to another forum was eventually not needed and since then I've sat on the domain prepared to use it when the time came. After some time and thought, I decided this would be a great place to store my troubleshooting tricks and basic information, should I need it at another location. So, I started building... now you see the results. Of course I can't say this is the end, because technology is ever changing and so is the product. As my skills grow, so too will these pages.

Thanks for reading and again I hope you found something useful (in the website, not here I'm sure).

Have a great day.

Hey why not? If I can make a couple of penny’s (seriously, it's only penny's) here and there, every little bit helps with the cost of maintaining the site. I know its cheesy... but give me a break.

Oh... and thanks for your support.
