Consequently, it offers a complex and challenging Information and Communications Technology (ICT) environment.  ICT is critical to achieving ongoing and continuous improvement in the University through the development, maintenance and support of the University’s enterprise IT solutions in addition to a range of small to medium solutions.

To support our objectives, we are currently seeking a customer-focussed IT professional for an Operational Management Specialist position. In this role you will design, implement and maintain our service oriented architecture that supports the University’s ERP Applications, including centralised enterprise scheduling, monitoring and integration services components. Main responsibilities include the strategic direction, design, development, configuration, installation, troubleshooting, analysis and technical implementation of the core platform application infrastructures. The University currently operates with BMC’s Patrol and Control-M and Sun’s JCAPS.

To qualify, you will have extensive experience in system administration in Windows, Linux and Solaris environments; as well as extensive experience managing and maintaining BMC, Control-M and Sun’s JCAPS products to support production infrastructure. Significant experience working with internal support and project teams to provide tiered monitoring solution is also essential. In addition you will have an extensive background in providing enterprise wide solutions within multiple environments operating on diverse operating systems, especially with regards to access and security management; resource management and capacity planning; general support and maintenance; and source control methodologies and tools.

Besides your technical expertise, you need to have a solution and customer focused attitude, be committed to continuous development and improvement, and be able to adhere to strict change management processes. A track record in delivering within agreed schedules and timeframes on a number of simultaneous project tasks is also required. You will hold appropriate tertiary qualifications and industry certification.

The position is full-time continuing, subject to the completion of a satisfactory probation period for new appointees. Membership of a University approved superannuation scheme is a condition of employment for new appointees.

Remuneration package: $111k - $117k p.a. (which includes base salary $94k - $99k, leave loading and 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation).
